Vintage Magic Trick by Conradi - Soot Whistle - circa 1919 (Germany)
This vintage item is in very good condition. This piece was manufactured in Germany by Conradi and displays excellent workmanship.
Soot whistles or magic whistles were popular novelty items from the 1880's - 1930's. This Conradi whistle is German made.
This model has 4 holes for black soot or white flour to be blown out by unsuspecting "victim".
The hollow container for soot is opened by CAREFULLY pulling out the mouthpiece.
This is a second generation whistle, easily identified by the button with a spring and plunger (which would not have been found in the original Professor Hoffman version).
