The key to this magic trick is the pair of magnets installed into one of the ropes. The magnets permit the linking and un-linking of the three loops of rope. Although the magnets in their linked positions are difficult for the audience to see, it is wise to conceal the magnets whenever possible. The magnets are off-center to make it easier to conceal them in your hand.
