Here's the effect ...
A Jumbo pack is handed to any spectator who is requested to have three cards freely selected . A perspex houlette is given out for examination. The remaining cards are returned to the houlette. The spectator is asked to collect the selected cards and assist the performer.
One of the selected cards is placed into an envelope which is then dropped into the houlette. The other two cards are placed anywhere in the deck. The houlette is placed on the table.
The assisting spectator is given a 'so called' Mind reading Machine, asked to operate it and
think of the first selected card. He does so...
UP COMES THE FIRST CARD SELECTED!
A handkerchief is folded into quarters and draped over the houlette. The 'Magic Flute' is handed to the spectator. He is asked to play his favourite tune whilst concentrating on his selected card. The handkerchief starts to move, it slowly rises ...under it is seen a ghostly shape ... the handkerchief falls away...
The ghostly shape that has risen beneath it turns out to be the second freely selected card!
NOW READ THIS ... EVERY WORD IS TRUE!
The spectator now holds the houlette in his own hands. He is instructed to tell the envelope to rise.
The moment he does so...
UP COMES THE ENVELOPE!
The spectator commands the envelope to open ...
SLOWLY, AS IF CONTROLLED BY 'SPOOKS', THE FLAP MOVES, THEN SLOWLY OPENS ...
BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
Whilst the spectator is still holding the houlette in his hands...
THE LAST OF THE SELECTED CARDS RISES FROM THE ENVELOPE,
WHICH HAS ALREADY RISEN HALF WAY FROM THE HOULETTE!!
The spectator is left with the houlette and cards in his own hands, which can be examined to his hearts content! There is nothing to find!
