After making a prediction on a piece of paper, the mentalist either borrows or introduces a calculator to be used in an experiment. After "blindfolding" the display area of the calculator, spectators are asked to program in random numbers calculations of their choice. When they are satisfied that they have made enough calculations, a spectator is instructed to press the "equal" sign and read aloud the total printed in the display area of the calculator.
